Hexamagic square, 4096th-order

Pan Fengchu (Meishan, Sichuan, China 1963 - )

The Chinese Pan Fengchu constructed a hexamagic square of order 4096 which we checked in December 2003. It was the most multimagical square currently known at that time. This square is using numbers from 0 to 16,777,215. The multimagic sums are:

Pan Fengchu studied combinatorial mathematics and geology. He is a geology professor. He worked 20 years in Tibet, where he investigated and evaluated a large-scale copper mine. He is now in Peking, and works in the Institute of Mineral Resources, Chinese Academy of Geological Sciences.

Fengchu means, in Chinese, "young phoenix".
